The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has released a draft of the 2024 Security-Based Swap (SBS) taxonomy to support the implementation of its recent rule on Security-Based Swap Execution and Registration of Security-Based Swap Execution Facilities (SBSEF).

This rule aims to address conflicts of interest and improve efficiency in the security-based swaps market by establishing a structured framework for registration and regulation. Under the SBSEF rule, swap trading entities must furnish various compliance, financial strength, conflict of interest, and risk management information to EDGAR.

The draft taxonomy enables digital filing, enhancing accessibility and streamlining processes. Stakeholders are urged to examine the draft taxonomy files on the SEC’s website and submit feedback by May 27, 2024.
