The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced the adoption of Version 74 of the EDGAR Filer Manual (Volume II), bringing it into alignment with recent system enhancements and the EDGAR Next rulemaking focused on filer access and account management.

The updates, effective April 18, 2025, mark another step forward in modernizing the electronic disclosure process and improving the efficiency and transparency of regulatory filings.

Key Enhancements Include:

  • Integration of EDGAR Release 25.1 and EDGAR Next Updates
The manual reflects the latest platform improvements, including tools to support the next generation of filer access and control.

  • Support for Inline XBRL Tagging for SPAC Disclosures
The updated manual introduces guidance for Structured Data Requirements related to Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) filings, set to become effective in June 2025.

  • Centralized Filer Dashboard
A new streamlined access management interface simplifies account oversight, delegation, and credential handling.

These updates reinforce the SEC’s commitment to advancing digital compliance infrastructure—facilitating accurate, timely, and investor-friendly reporting while responding to the evolving demands of ESG transparency, cybersecurity, and regulatory efficiency.
