ISA Revises the Widely Used Engineering Symbols and Drawings Standard ISA-5.1

The International Society of Automation (ISA) has released an updated version of its ANSI/ISA-5.1 standard, now titled Instrumentation and Control Symbols and Identification. This revision clarifies control symbols and improves document readability. It adds new symbols, recognizes emerging automation technology, and introduces technical reports for guidelines on identification and graphic symbols.

Celebrating 75 years in 2024, ISA-5.1 remains widely used across the global process industries, with ongoing updates to keep pace with technological advances.
