Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes (Direktorat Jenderal Pajak or DGT) recently issued guidance on several new aspects for entities to consider while using a new XBRL-based feature for their tax returns.

Financial filers in Indonesia can now use an XBRL-based feature – the SPT financial report information standardization (SILK) – while preparing certain components of their financial statements and supporting documents.

The introduction of SILK forms part of a program of tax reforms aiming to improve the availability and reliability of financial data. They are pleased to see the launch of XBRL for certain elements of corporate tax returns in Indonesia – a significant milestone that should enhance transparency and efficiency.
